what happened to “Wild Thing” by the Troggs for Papelbon? I loved that!!!!!
I knew most of the songs but go to alot of the games and pay alot of attention to the music.something you dont get on tv.
One thing I want to know is this.Maybe you can answer this for me.
First of all “Fruitgirl” known on here is a friend of mine on sawxheads tipped me off to attending the end of bp if i get there 2 hours early.
I took my mom last weekend to 2 Tampa Games and sunday when we arrived to bp there was some “jammin!” music playing.
Now…my question is can anyone tell me what plays during bp or does it change.Kinda sounded like Nickelback but im not sure.
It used to be Wild Thing as Pap ran in from the bullpen, then switching to the Murphys tune while he warmed up. Starting this season, it’s just “Shipping”–so you get the whole song now.
Ellsbury had been Cherub Rock by Smashing Pumpkins, but he changed it.
Pedroia had a song with a similar bass line to Dre Day for a while, and finally he just did the obvious and switched to the song we all thought of anyway while hearing that similar one.
Lopez, who was just released, was using Killing in the Name Of by RATM.
Oh, Papelbon HAS to stick with something by the Dropkick Murphys!! Can’t deny he’s got dancing skills that go hand in hand. I think we would be messing with Fate to consider anything else for Jon Papelbon! Maybe the Murphys will come up with something new for our relief.. That would be stellar!

I have the perfect song for Jonathan Papelbon. The song is “Take Me Home” by Marc Broussard. He is from Louisiana (Pap went to school there and his wife is from LA) and the song has a great handclapping part in the middle that I could definitely see the crowd getting into when he comes to the mound. Take Me Home also relates to taking us “home” (the winning end of the game!) Check it out…

Cool. I like the songs that are played when the opposing team’s catcher goes to talk to the pitcher. They’re always sappy love songs that crack me up. Last time I went, they played “I want you to want me” by Cheap Trick and gave me a giggle.

If anyone has been searching for it with no results, it’s actually “Zenryaku, Michi no Ue Yori” (“michi” and “no” are seperate words). The band is called Issefubi Sepia, though the song was recently covered by a group called PureBOYS.
I always have to kind of chuckle at JBay’s intro song. It seems almost self-deprecating which seems to fit in with his character. Perhaps now Mikey Lowell will pass “Iron Man” on to him?
